Overview

About this course

Many people already have a useful skill — writing, design, video editing, social media, spreadsheets, coding or teaching — but are not sure how to turn it into paid work. This four-month programme shows you how to package that skill as a clear service, present it with a portfolio, find and win clients, and run your freelance work like a small business.

The later modules move from selling your time to building digital products and simple online businesses — templates, e-books, workshops, newsletters and small online stores — and cover how to bring in help as your work grows.

How the course runs

Classes are held live on Google Meet every Saturday and Sunday morning, so the course fits around college or a job. Each weekend ends with a practical task that adds to your own freelance launch kit.

  • Build a portfolio, a service page and freelance platform profiles during the course
  • Practise discovery calls, proposals and price negotiation through role-plays with feedback
  • Finish with a launch plan for your service and one digital product

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Choose a freelance niche based on your skills, market demand and the clients you want to serve
  • Package your skill into clear service offers with scope, deliverables and pricing
  • Build a portfolio and professional profiles on LinkedIn and freelance platforms such as Upwork and Fiverr
  • Write proposals, run discovery calls and handle negotiation and scope changes
  • Use simple contracts and invoices, receive payments, and understand GST and income-tax basics for freelancers
  • Manage projects and clients with tools such as Google Workspace, Trello or Notion
  • Create and sell a simple digital product such as a template, e-book or paid workshop
  • Use AI tools to speed up research and drafts while protecting quality and client confidentiality

Questions about this course

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about this course.

How long is the course, and when are the classes?

The course runs for four months, with live classes on Google Meet every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM IST — about 100 hours of live training. Classes are taught in English, with Hindi support where needed. The current batch dates and the last date to apply are shown on this page.

Do I need an existing skill, a company or GST registration to start?

You need a skill to offer, or the time to practise one alongside the course — this course teaches the business side of freelancing, not technical skills such as design or coding from scratch. You do not need a company or GST registration to begin; most freelancers start as individuals. The course explains when GST registration becomes necessary and how freelance income is taxed, at an awareness level. For your own situation, consult a chartered accountant or tax professional.

Will this course guarantee me clients or a fixed income?

No. Nobody can honestly guarantee clients or income. During the course you build a portfolio, profiles, proposals and an outreach plan, and practise pitching with feedback — but results depend on your skill, the time you put in and the demand for your service.

What if I miss a weekend class?

Class notes, templates and task briefs are shared with enrolled learners, so you can catch up on what was covered and bring your questions to the next weekend. Attendance is recorded for every session, and you need at least 75% attendance across the sessions held to be eligible for the certificate.

What does the fee cover, and how do I pay?

The total fee shown on this page is for the full four-month programme and covers all live sessions, assessments and the certificate. After you apply, you can pay using the payment options listed on the Fees page; please read that page and the Refund and Cancellation Policy before paying.

What certificate will I receive?

Learners who meet the attendance requirement and score at least 50% overall, including the minimum mark in the capstone launch plan, receive the Certificate in Freelancing & Digital Entrepreneurship from Appsgain Technologies with a marksheet, after review and approval. Anyone can verify it online using the certificate number or QR code. It is a skill-training certificate, not a degree, licence or guarantee of work or income.
